Module 5:  Fundamental elements of effective safety management.
Module 6:  Good organisational governance and safety management
Module 7:  Assessing safety risks
Module 8:  Achieving SHE excellence
Module 9:  The role of the CEO and the general duties of management
Module 10: Imposed relationship between line management and the safety practitioner
Module 11: General duties of manufacturers and sale of articles.
Module 12: General duties of employees and employee involvement.
Module 13: Health and Safety Representatives and Committees
Module 14: Reportable injuries and occupational diseases
Module 15: Personal safety equipment and facilities
Module 16: Acts or omissions; exemptions, third party agreements and penalties
Module 17: Establishing an effective SHE system
 
Who should attend?
The programme will be useful for managers at all levels including:
 The CEO-Section 16(1) or Managing Director,
·      Section 16(2) appointees,
·      Directors,
·      Engineers,
·      Middle Management and line Management,
·      Supervisors,
·      GMR 2(1) appointees,
·      GMR 2(7) appointees,

Purpose of the Course:
This course is intended for all managers who should know the requirements of the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) and the consequences of non-compliance.

The qualifying learner is capable of:
  •        Explaining the basic principles of the Act and accompanying Regulations.
  •        Explaining the requirements for minimum compliance stipulated in the Act.
  •        Interpreting the management controls required to achieve compliance.
  •        Explaining the obligations of managers in terms of communication and training.
