Griewe prosedures

Dit is ironies dat griewe prosedures meestal deur werkgewers as negatief ervaar word. Bestuurders neem dikwels aanstoot indien dit kom by griewe prosedures en neem die inhoud daarvan persoonlik op. Om die redes is werknemers huiwerig om hulle griewe te lig en dra dit by tot ongelukkige en onbevredigende werksomstandighede.

 

In realiteit is dit egter tot voordeel van die werkgewer om so gou as moontlik van enige ongelukkigheid bewus te word en ook so spoedig moontlik op te los. Ten einde te verseker dat die griewe prosedure doeltreffend funksioneer en die verwagte resultate bereik is dit nodig om te verseker dat werknemers nie onregverdig behandel sal word teen gediskrimineer gaan word of selfs geviktimiseer gaan word omdat sekere griewe gelig is nie.


Werkgewers moet in gedagte hou dat daar sekere prosedures tot hulle beskikking is om werknemers se gedrag te korrigeer in terme van dissiplineer prosedures, indien nodig. Dit is dus net regverdig dat daar sekere prosesse tot die werknemers se beskikking gestel word om ongelukkigheid of onbevredigende werksomstandighede onder die werkgewer se aandag te bring.

 

Waar tug prosedures dus van Bestuur afwaarts na die personeel toe werk, funksioneer ʼn griewe prosedure in die teenoorgesteelde rigting ten einde bestuur van sekere probleme bewus te maak. Werknemers moet besef dat ʼn griewe prosedure nie die regte forum is om teen ʼn sanksie van dissiplinêre optrede te appelleer nie. Dit kan nie ook nie gebruik word vir kollektiewe bedinging nie en ook nie om beter diensvoorwaardes soos byvoorbeeld salaris verhogings te beding nie.

 

ʼn Griewe prosedure is gekoppel aan tydperke. Dit is derhalwe nodig dat die maatskappy die tydsraamwerk gehoorsaam soos gestipuleer. Indien die gegriefde werknemer nie gelukkig is met die eerste vlak van toesighouding se voorstel nie, en indien daardie toesighouer nie die jurisdiksie het om die probleem op te los nie, beweeg dit aan na die volgende bestuursvlak. Indien die werknemer tevrede is met die besluit is die grief opgelos en word die aangeleentheid as afgehandel beskou.

 

By elke vlak van outoriteit moet die werknemer die geleentheid gebied word om op skrif aan te dui of hy/sy tevrede is met die beslissing. Indien die verlangde resultaat nie bereik is nie volg die prosedure sy opwaartse roete na ʼn meer senior bestuurder. Indien die grief die bopunt van die organisasie struktuur bereik het en die werknemer steeds nie gelukkig is met die oplossings nie, kan die aangeleentheid na die Kommissie vir Versoening, Bemiddeling en Arbitrasie (KVBA) of relevante Bedingingsrade verwys word vir bemiddeling.

 

Werkgewers sal nie bewus wees van ontevredenheid in organisasies en dat regstellings gemaak moet word as die werkers hulle nie in kennis stel nie. Griewe kan nie na die KVBA of Bedingingsrade verwys word voordat alle interne kommunikasie prosedures en kanale nie gevolg is nie.
